Vocabulary

  • freeware- Complete and functional software that does not require payment or other compensation (such as nags or advertising) for its use. Freeware may be a proprietary license with no access to the source code. examples are Google Chrome and Adobe Flash Player.


  • shareware- Software that is available free of charge; may be distributed for evaluation with a fee requested for additional features or a manual etc. Examples are vokie and adobe reader.


  • open source- To release the source code of; Of, or relating to a product which is licensed to permit modifications and redistribution of its source code. yes i use it. Examples is picnik.


  • commercial software- Commercial software, or less commonly, payware, is computer software that is produced for sale or that serves commercial purposes. Examples are Manager Plus Pro and Raisers Edge
